Vona Dukes

LUFKIN, Texas—Vona Belle "Bonnie" Dukes, 93, of Diboll, Texas, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2018, in a local nursing home. Mrs. Dukes was born Aug. 15, 1925, in Richards, Texas. She was retired from William George Produce and a member of Order of the Eastern Star and Central Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Harold Dukes, in 1995. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Jo Lynn and Calvin Scarbrough of Lufkin, Texas; one sister, Billie Canon of San Angelo, Texas; one granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Melissa and Jeff Klingberg of Fort Worth, Texas; one grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Jamie and Gigi Scarbrough of Plano, Texas; four great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Graveside services will be noon Friday at Chapelwood Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Phillip Dunn officiating. Burial will be under direction of Carroway Funeral Home.
