New Boston, Texas—William "Bill" E. Caldwell, age 86 of New Boston, Texas passed away Thursday, December 20, 2018 in a local Hospice Facility. Mr. Caldwell was born September 21, 1932 in Wolfe City, Texas. He was a Cattle Rancher, retired from Red River Army Depot, member of Westside Missionary Baptist Church, United States Army Veteran and is preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Caldwell and a daughter, Tammy Smith. Survivors include two daughters and one son in law, Jan and Larry Johnson and Shelia Caldwell Holder of New Boston, Texas, three grandchildren and spouses, Cody and Brooke Johnson of DeKalb, Texas, Chris and Dollie Johnson of New Boston, Texas, Kristi Mefford of Dallas, Texas, 7 great grandchildren, Athena Upshaw of New Boston, Texas, Phoenix Mitchell and Gryffen Mefford of Dallas, Texas, Kilee and Conner Johnson of DeKalb, Texas, Ella and Bo Johnson of New Boston, Texas, one brother, Bruce Caldwell of New Boston, Texas, two brothers in law and two sisters in law, Morris Hall of DeKalb, Texas, Johnny and Peggy Hall of Texarkana, Texas, Mirriam Hall of Center, Texas, and a number of other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, December 23, 2018 at Westside Missionary Baptist Church, New Boston with Bro. Shannon Doyen officiating. Interment will be in Godley Prairie Cemetery, New Boston under the direction of Bates Rolf Funeral Home, New Boston, Texas. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 3:00 P.M., Sunday before services at the church.
