Marie Bland James, 77, of Palmdale, Calif., died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2018, in Palmdale. Ms. James was born June 7, 1941, in Texarkana, Texas. Survivors include one daughter, Rosalind Jones of Palmdale; three brothers, John Bland of Dallas, Charles Bland of Garland, Texas, and William "Soulman" Bland of Mandeville, Ark.; eight sisters, Myrtis Sanders and Frances Shead of Texarkana, Ruby Stigers and Dorothy Robinson of Dallas, Alice Rivers and Cecelia Pittman of Los Angeles and Lynn Hill and Diana Miles of Beaumont, Texas; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Living Stone Cathedral of Worship, Littlerock, Calif., with Rodney Rivers officiating. Local arrangements are under direction of Haynes Mortuary.
