VERSIE JOHNSON

Versie Mae Johnson, 85, of Texarkana, Texas, died Sunday, Jan. 28, 2018, at a local hospital. Mrs. Johnson was born Sept. 9, 1932, in Kiblah, Ark. She was a cook and a member of Lonoke Baptist Church. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Macie Thomas of Texarkana; one brother, Terry Maxwell of Texarkana; three grandchildren, Linda Rogers and Juna Thomas of Texarkana and Tony Thomas of Houston; eight great-grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Lonoke Baptist Church with the Rev. Arthur Hill Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens under the direction of Haynes Mortuary.
