MARY ATKINS

CLARKSVILLE, Texas—Mary Virginia Atkins, 97, of Clarksville died Monday, Feb. 5, 2018, in a Paris, Texas nursing home. Mrs. Atkins was born Aug. 8, 1920, in Clarksville. She was retired from Clarksville Funeral Home She also was a former teacher at Russel's Chapel and Lanes Chapel, and employed by P.T. Taylor Hardware. She was former president of American Legion Auxiliary and a member of Church of Christ. Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. B.J. and Annette Atkins of Huntsville, Texas, Ed and Alice Atkins of Detroit, Texas, and Jim and Sook Atkins of Dallas, Texas; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Clarksville Funeral Home with Steve Marx officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
