Raymond E. Harrington

Raymond E. Harrington, US Army SFC (retired), husband and father, age 87 of Doddridge Arkansas left this world to be with his Lord on February 7, 2018. Raymond was born November 26, 1930 in Lufkin, TX. He retired from the US Army in 1967 as a Sergeant First Class after 21 years of service including during the Korean War. He also retired from Lone Star Army Ammunition Plant. He was Chaplin at VFW Post 5870 and an active member of Sandhill Assembly of God Church in Doddridge, AR. Raymond was preceded in death by his father James William Harrington; mother Mattie Harrington Hall; his wife of 45 years, Ellen Harrington; great grandchild Zachary Lugger; brothers, Carson, James Brice, Woodrow, Weldon, Burl, Tommy and Harold Dean Harrington, and Bert Brown; sisters, Irene, Frances, Christine, Hope, Joyce, Gladys, Ruth and Gertrude. Survived by his daughters Gloria and husband Gordon Landon, Linda Rowe, Judy and husband Terry Thompson, Sandra and husband Danny Fyffe, Peggy and husband Jeff Robey; son James E. Harrington and wife Jeanne; grandchildren Debbie and husband Scott Lugger, LTC David Landon and wife Amber, Hunter Harrington and wife Ruth, Myranda Rowe, Ann E. Harrington, Forrest Harrington and wife Amanda, Wyatt Fyffe, Seth Fyffe; great grandchildren Jasmine and Trevor Lugger, Meela and Nyssa Landon, Finlee, Rae, and Reed Harrington; and brother Wade Hall, Jr. and wife Doris. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday at Hanner Funeral Service, Atlanta, TX. A Celebration of Raymond's life will be held at Macedonia Baptist Church located at 23465 State Hwy 237, Doddridge, AR on Saturday, February 17th at 11:00 a.m. followed by a grave side service and reception immediately following under the direction of Hanner Funeral Service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made for Raymond E. Harrington to the Arkansas Children's Foundation, Burn Unit, 1 Children's Way, Slot 661, Little Rock, AR 72202, and/or Sandhill Assembly of God Church Building Fund.
