Shannon Smith

Shannon Marie Smith, 36, of Texarkana, TX, died Sunday, February 18, 2018, at Hospice of Texarkana Inpatient Center. She was born November 20, 1981, in Arlington, TX. She was an assistant manager for Subway; a nursery worker at Walnut Church of Christ; and worked at Julie's Deli. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Gene Smith. She is survived by three sons, Patrick Gavin Wade, Jacob Landon Renfroe and Cameron Matthew Smith, all of Texarkana; her father, Frix Smith of Texarkana; her mother, Cynthia DeCarr of Overland, MO; step-parents, Kim and Mike Stanford of Kennedale, TX; her grandmother, Esta Smith of Texarkana; one brother, Josh Thompson of St. Louis, MO; one sister, Rachel Rousan of Poplar Bluff, MO; and a step-brother, Jeremy Grammer of Kennedale, TX. Shannon loved fiercely. She lived her life for her boys, giving all for them. Her smile was as big as the sun, and even in her final days, she was always putting the needs of others above her own. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, February 24, 2018, at Walnut Church of Christ with Patrick Cannon officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Texas.
