Bobby Joe "B.J." McDonald, 76, of Texarkana, Texas, died Friday, Feb. 23, 2018, at a local hospice. Mr. McDonald was born July 3, 1941, in Shreveport, La. He retired from the Army as a sergeant major and was a retired security specialist with Defense Logistics Agency at Red River Army Depot. He was a 32nd-degree Mason with Wake Village Masonic Lodge; a member and past commander of American Legion Post 25; member of Disabled Veterans of America, First Baptist Church, Moores Lane, and Tuller Sunday School class; and American Legion baseball commissioner. Mr. McDonald was preceded in death by one grandson, Hunter B. Roberts. Survivors include his wife, Josephine McDonald of Texarkana; two daughters and son-in-law, Linda and Billy B. Roberts and Brenda Bryan of Texarkana; two granddaughters, Chelsea Roberts of Fayetteville, Ark., and Brooke Bryan of Texarkana; and three nephews, Mike McDonald, Randy McDonald and Larry Hendrickson. Services with Masonic and military rites will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Chapelwood Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
