Mrs. Ailene Miller Horn, age 87, of Texarkana, Arkansas, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 27, 2018. Mrs. Horn was born September 5, 1930, in Haworth, Oklahoma and had lived most of her life in Texarkana. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church and was a Homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Edward Horn. Ailene was loved by many, especially her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed reading her Bible everyday and praying the blessing at every meal. She cooked countless meals through the years, and was forever welcoming her large family and friends with fried chicken or dumplings and biscuits. She was known for making things more beautiful than how she found them. She was generous and kind and fun. Her heart was filled with faith, her home with family, and her yard with flowers, especially daisies and irises. She will be greatly missed, but her legacy lives on in our hearts and memories. A devoted and loving mother, she leaves to cherish her memory her children, Nancy Sue Coker and her husband, George, of Texarkana, Arkansas, Debbie Brainerd and Mark Brainerd of Shreveport, Louisiana, Donna Redfearn and her husband, Woodrow, of Texarkana, Arkansas, Helaine Dowd and Jimmy Burson of Stonewall, Louisiana, Jimmy Wise of Texarkana, Arkansas and Dr. Jon Horn and Lamar Roberts of Jefferson, Georgia, nine grandchildren, Kimberly Waggoner, Camille Wrinkle, Todd Dobson, Tim Dobson, Craig Dowd, Kyle Dowd, Beau Redfearn, Derrick Redfearn, and Brandon Wise, fourteen great-grandchildren, and a number of other relatives. A celebration of her life will be at 11:00 A. M. Friday at the Texarkana Funeral Home Arkansas Chapel with Rev. David Kassos officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The pallbearers will be her grandsons. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 PM until 7 PM Thursday. Memorials may be made to Dierksen Hospice, 6500 Summerhill Road, Ste 200, Texarkana, Texas, 75503, or to Harvest Regional Food Bank, 3120 East 19th Street, Texarkana, Arkansas, 71854. The family will be at the Coker residence, 1201 Forest Acres Circle, Texarkana, Arkansas, and the Redfearn residence, 4403 Dakoda Lane, Texarkana, Arkansas.
