ATLANTA, Texas—Samuel Clinton "Uncle Sam" Wadsworth Jr., 88, of Atlanta died Monday, Dec. 4, 2017, at his home. Mr. Wadsworth was born March 28, 1929, in Pine Bluff, Ark. He was retired from International Paper, a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Commander and Parade Chairman of the American Legion, a member of Law's Chapel Methodist Church and a Korean War Air Force veteran. He was preceded in death by one stepson, Dean Bradford. Survivors include his wife Peggy Wadsworth; one son and daughter-in-law, Sam and Jean Wadsworth; two grandchildren, Mary Scarborough and Max Wadsworth; many great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Memorial services will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church. Body was donated to science. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hanner Funeral Service.
