JOHN DOWDY

NASHVILLE, Ark.—John Donald Dowdy, 81, of Nashville died Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018. Mr. Dowdy was born May 18, 1936, in Silver, Ark. He was the retired owner of John Dowdy Accounting, a member of First United Methodist Church and a U.S. Air Force veteran. Survivors include his wife, Nancy McDowell Dowdy of Nashville; three children and two spouses, John Phillip Dowdy of War Eagle, Ark., Donald Mark and Jamie Dowdy of Dierks, Ark., and Nancy Doreen and Gene Funderburg of Lowell, Ark.; four siblings, Tom Dowdy of Athens, Ark., Marie "Sis" Little of Athens, James Dowdy of Glenwood, Ark., and Ruby Henderson of Mineral Springs, Ark.; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Graveside services with military honors were 2 p.m. Tuesday at Athens Cemetery with James Harris officiating. Burial was under the direction of Nashville Funeral Home.
