LOIS COWLEY

NEW BOSTON, Texas—Lois Wilma Cowley, 84, of New Boston, Texas, died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2018, at a local nursing home. Mrs. Cowley was born May 1, 1933, in Bowie County, Texas. She was a retired clerk for Bowie County and a member of Daniels Chapel Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Ray Cowley; and one son, Stanley Cowley. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, David and Debbie Cowley of Foreman, Ark.; two daughters and one son-in-law, Peggy and Buddy Scott and Beth Huffman of New Boston, Texas; five grandchildren, Greg Scott, Stephen Scott, Eric Cowley, Casey Cowley and Jessica Akin; 14 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Daniels Chapel Methodist Church with Tommy Bohon officiating. Burial will be in Red Bayou Cemetery under the direction of Bates-Rolf Funeral Home.
