DeKALB, Texas—Marvin Louis Gray, 68, of DeKalb died Monday, Jan. 15, 2018, at his home. Mr. Gray was born Sept. 17, 1949, in DeKalb. He was a welder and blacksmith with Lone Star Ammunition and Texana Tank Car and a deacon, Sunday School Superintendent and Trustee with Oak Ridge Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Verdell Murry Gray of DeKalb; one son, Michael Gerard Gray of DeKalb; two brothers and two sisters-in-law, Melvin and Ethel Gray of Hooks, Texas, Leroy Gray of DeKalb and Mattie Gray of New boston, Texas; one aunt, Gerlene Giddens of DeKalb, Texas; one brother-in-law, James Germany of DeKalb, Texas; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Oak Ridge Baptist Church, DeKalb, with the Revs. Melvin Gray and Michael Gray officiating. Burial will be in Beaver Dam Cemetery under direction of Bates Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
