NEW BOSTON, Texas—Sara Lee Grubbs, 86, of New Boston died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018, in a Mount Pleasant, Texas, hospital. Mrs. Grubbs was born April 25, 1931, in Marion County, Texas. She was a homemaker and served in the First Grade Sunday School Department at First Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Harvey Grubbs of Mount Pleasant, Texas; one son, Darrell Grubbs of Mount Pleasant; one daughter, Melissa Raney of New Boston; one brother, Joe Hatfield of Clarksville, Tenn.; six grandchildren, Sara Vacanti of Texarkana, Texas, Laura Raney of Conway, Ark., Maggie Grubbs and Cullen Grubbs of Mount Pleasant, Sgt. Brandon Raney of Reaford, N.C., Haydon Raney of New Boston; four great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church with Dr. Ken Cox and Dr. Patrick Hunter officiating. Burial will be in Ringwood Cemetery under the direction of Bates Rolf Funeral Home.
