David Adams

Mr. David Riley Adams, age 88, of Texarkana, Arkansas, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, January 23, 2018, at his residence. Dave was born in Texarkana, Arkansas on November 1, 1929, and had been a lifetime resident. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church and was retired owner of Dave's Floor Coverings and Dave Adams Olympic Pools. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Texarkana, the Home Builders Association of Texarkana, and the National Pool and Spa Foundation. He was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Dave was a loving husband, sweet father, and wonderful grandfather.  He will always be remembered and cherished.  He loved the beach, swimming, carpentry, and playing poker. Dave was the youngest child of Homer and Irene Adams.  He had three brothers: Homer Jr., Frank, Morris Adams and one sister, Doris Harvey.  All have passed away. Survivors include his wife of sixty-six years, Joan Adams of Texarkana, Arkansas, one son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Linda Adams of Texarkana, Arkansas, two daughters and one son-in-law, Vicky Adams Carreon and Debbie and Whit Holman of Texarkana, Arkansas, six grandchildren, Jason and Jessica Adams of Bentonville, Arkansas, Elan Carreon, Bryan and Jill Wilhite, Lindsay Adams, Amber and Scott Grigsby, and Clay and Morgan Wilhite, all of Texarkana, Arkansas, ten great-grandchildren, Taylor Holman, Jackson Adams, Joshua Adams, Brooks Wilhite, Ava Grigsby, Maddox Wilhite, Beckett Wilhite, Ella Grigsby, Monroe Wilhite, and Spencer Wakin, one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Shirley and Thelma Brooks of Texarkana, Texas, and a number of nieces and nephews. A celebration of his life will be at 11:00 A. M. Saturday at Rondo United Methodist Church, 2335 North Rondo Road, Texarkana, Arkansas, with Rev. Wallace Edgar officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Arkansas.
