IDABEL, Okla.—LaVerne McCain, 90, of Idabel died Thursday, Jan. 25, 2018, in Paris, Texas. Mrs. McCain was born March 8, 1927, in Boswell, Okla. She was a seamstress, former clothing alteration shop owner and a member of First Baptist Church, Idabel. She was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle McCain, in 1991. Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Diane McCain Wake and Linda and Al Loveday of Idabel; one brother, Dude Wickersham of Hugo, Okla.; one sister, Goldie Jewell of Vancouver, Wash.; three grandchildren, Toby Wake, Amye Larsen and Chris Plant; one special friend, Lamontdria Scales; six great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. today at White Family Funeral Home with Andy Bowman officiating.
