Memorial services for Billy (Bill) Harold Sharp will be at 11 a.m., in the Downs Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, February 2, 2018. There will be a visitation from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service. Bill was born in Maud, Texas January 10, 1933. He accepted Christ at an early age in the First Baptist Church. While in high school Bill excelled in basketball and later played while attending Paris Junior College. Bill served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. After returning, he worked for Borden, Inc. for 40 years. He retired as General Sales Manager in 1994. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and enjoyed spending time with family and friends He always looked forward to visits from his grandchildren. They were his pride and joy. Bill loved all sports and was a loyal fan of the Texas Longhorns. He also enjoyed watching old movies and any westerns. On April 3, 1973, he married Becky Cain and they raised their blended family in Marshall and Uncertain,Texas. He is survived by his wife, Becky; sons, Larry, Barry (Sherry), Todd (Amanda), Billy (Phyllis); daughter, D'Lisa (Mike); brother, Ronny (Sharon) and sister, Peggy (James). Bill had 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Special friends are Mark Reynolds and Dennis Fouts. Bill was preceded in death by his parents E.E. "Pete" and Vera Foster Sharp, and son Danny Hydrick. Memorials may be made to "The Pet Place" or "The Humane Society" in his memory.
