HUGHES SPRINGS, Texas—Elaine Cates, 64, of Hughes Springs died Sunday, Jan. 28, 2018. Ms. Cates was born Aug. 23, 1953, in Atlanta, Texas. Survivors include one sister, Janie King; four nieces, Samantha King, Paula Odom, Dustee Clark and Charlie Clark; one nephew, Chaz Clark; three great-nieces, Nadia King, Karleigh Brown and Daisy Odom; one great-nephew, Samuel Odom; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Reeder-Davis Funeral Home. Burial will be in Harris Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
