Robert Kidd

Robert E. (Bobby) Kidd, age 79, of Texarkana, Texas, died Monday, January 29, 2018 at St. Michael Hospital. Mr. Kidd was born November 18, 1938 to Ralph and Jean Kidd in Texarkana, Texas. He married his high school sweetheart, Delma Hickerson, on July 20, 1959. They were married just shy of sixty years. Bobby was a brilliant mechanic owning and running Kidd Automotive for over fifteen years. After selling the shop Bobby became an instructor at Texarkana Community College sharing his love for automobiles for more than 20 years. He was a lifelong member of Eylau United Methodist Church. Not many people can say they attended the same church from their first breath to their last. Bobby enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing, and antique cars. In addition to his hobbies, he loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Delma Kidd of Texarkana, Texas; one son and daughter-in-law: Mike and Dea Kidd of Redwater, Texas; one brother and sister-in-law: Kenneth and Jenny Kidd of Tawakoni, Texas; one sister and brother-in-law: Linda and Mike Farmer of Denton, Texas; his grandchildren: Craig Kidd, Holly and Jon Crabtree, Heather and Kevin Avery, Weston and Alie Bagwell, Deven Bagwell, Morgan Bridwell and several great grandchildren and a host of other friends and family members. Services will be 2:00 P. M. Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Chapelwood Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chuck Bratz and Rev. Keith Ducroz officiating. Burial will be in Eylau Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Chapelwood Funeral Home Wednesday, January 31, 2018 from 5:30 P. M. to 7:30 P. M.
