VELMA ARNOLD

Velma Marie Arnold, 91, of Texarkana, Ark., died Monday, Jan. 29, 2018, at her home. Mrs. Arnold was born Nov. 4, 1926, in Garland, Ark. She was a member of Beech Street First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Edwin Arnold; one son, Michael Eugene Hooper; and one grandson, Matthew Scott McNatt. Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Merri Lynn and Gary McNatt and Ramona and Roy Stanley of Texarkana and Loretta and Randy Thomas of Colorado Springs, Colo.; one son, Jack E. Foote of Doddridge, Ark.; one brother, Patrick Black of Texarkana; one sister, Carolyn Black of Doddridge; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Jonathan Stanley officiating. Burial is under direction of East Funeral Home, Downtown.
