IDABEL, Okla.—Chuck Bates, 86, of Redland community, Okla., died Thursday, July 5, 2018. The Rev. Bates was born Aug. 12, 1931, in Redland community. He was a farmer and former pastor of Faith Assembly of God Church, Idabel. He was preceded in death by one son, Samuel Wayne Bates. Survivors include his wife, Josie of Redland community; three sons, the Rev. Ronnie Bates of Idabel, the Rev. Mike Bates of Rush Springs, Okla., and Paul Bates of Bowie, Texas; two daughters, the Rev. Glenda Bates and Linda Clowers of Idabel; one sister, Alene Wicker of Idabel; one brother, John Bates of Liberty Hill, Texas; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Faith Assembly of God Church with the Revs. Mike Bates, Ronnie Bates and Elawyne Schaeffer officiating under direction of White Family Funeral Home.
