MAX WELCH

HOPE, Ark.—Max Edwin Welch, 83, of Blevins, Ark., died Friday, July 6, 2018, in Prescott, Ark. Mr. Welch was born Jan. 16, 1935, in Benton, Ark. He was a retired master electrician from Firestone, a deacon of Marlbrook Baptist Church and an Army veteran. He was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Jay Dixon and Haley Staggs Quick; and one great-grandchild, Brody Quick. Survivors include his wife, Maudine Steed Welch of Blevins; one daughter, Amy Burnett of Benton, Ark.; one stepdaughter and stepson-in-law, Jackie and Larry White of Nashville, Ark.; two stepsons and one stepdaughter-in-law, Phil and Robyn Hartsfield of Glenwood, Ark., and Stan Hartsfield of Blevins; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Dorothy Virginia and Dub Ewing of Bryant, Ark., and Sally Ann Biggs of Benton; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 11 a.m. today at Marlbrook Baptist Church with Jerry Hill and Robert Ewing officiating. Burial will be in Marlbrook Cemetery under the direction of Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home.
