JIMMIE SIMMONS

James "Jimmie" Wright Simmons, 94, of Texarkana, Texas, died Saturday, July 7, 2018. Mrs. Simmons was born April 2, 1924, in Fordyce, Ark. She was a homemaker, office manager, Gold member of Order of the Eastern Star Grand Chapter of Louisiana and member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Franklin Simmons. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Franklin Wright and Darlene Maria Simmons of Sewell, N.J.; two grandchildren, Kristin Leigh Simmons and Matthew William Simmons; and three great-grandchildren, Tyler Dannenhauer, Micah Simmons and Brennan Simmons. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Chapelwood Funeral Home, Nash, Texas. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Online registration is at chapelwoodfuneralhome.com.
