ITALO FORTE

Italo Forte, 87 of Texarkana, AR passed away on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at his home. He was born on September 13, 1930 in Texarkana, AR. Mr. Forte was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church where he was a 3rd degree in the Knights of Columbus. He attended LSU, UALR and graduated from Henderson State University in 1952. He was inducted into the UALR Athletic Hall of Fame and the Henderson State University Athletic Hall of Fame. He was retired from REA Electric Coop., served in the U S Army and was an avid golfer. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Frances Forte. Survivors include his wife Mary Ellen Forte of Texarkana, AR; three sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Margaret Forte of Texarkana, AR, Richard and Susan Forte of Texarkana, AR, Mark and Doris Forte of Magnolia, AR; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Tommy Goodrum of Texarkana, AR; 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10am Monday, July 16, 2018 at St. Edward Catholic Church with Rev. Paul Worm and Deacon David Fowler officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of East Funeral Home-Downtown. Rosary will be 6pm Sunday, July 15, 2018 with visitation to follow at East Funeral Home-Downtown.
