Curley Jean Griffin-Martin, 64, of Hooks, Texas, died Friday, May 25, 2018, in a local hospital. Mrs. Griffin-Martin was born Oct. 16, 1953, in New Boston, Texas. She was a retired cafeteria worker and a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, Marietta, Texas, and Cedar Grove Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, the Rev. Henry E. Martin of Hooks; one son, Edward Tyrone Griffin of Hooks; two daughters, Tonya Michele Clement of Little Elm, Texas, and Cassandra Wiggins of Queen City, Texas; three brothers, Johnny Ray Griffin of New Boston, Richard Earl Griffin of McKinney, Texas, and W.M. Griffin of Hooks; two sisters, Bernice Johnson of New Boston and Mary Gooden of Hooks; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a number of other relatives. Closed casket services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, Hooks, with the Revs. David Cooke and Gaylon Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens Cemetery under direction of Haynes Mortuary. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
