New Boston, Texas—Beloved Wife, Mother, Sweet Mammie, sister and friend, Wanda Culpepper Looney went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 12, 2018. Wanda was born December 9, 1941 in Malta Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents; J.D. and Lyde Culpepper, two sisters; Peggy Barfield and Merle Henderson. Wanda was a retired secretary and office manager for Looney Insurance Agency. She was a member of First Baptist Church of New Boston, Texas where she was an active member and former teacher of the Dorcas Sunday School Class. Wanda served her communities in various capacities as a charter member of the Gardenia Garden Club of DeKalb, former President and member of the United Fund of New Boston, a board member of New Boston Chamber of Commerce, the Board of Commissioners for Bowie County Housing Authority, the City Council of DeKalb and the Auxiliary Board at St. Michael's Hospital where she served as a volunteer for eighteen years. Wanda also enjoyed her membership in the Red Hat Society. Survivors include her beloved husband; Ronny, one brother; Kenneth Culpepper, two sons; Grayson and Brandon and one Daughter; Marla McGill Nichols, grandchildren; Monica McGill Porter, Nathan McGill, Nickolas McGill, Isabella, J.Stallings, Giana, Juliana, Preston Davis, Chloe Nichols Stjepomovic and Ethan Nichols, one great-grandson; Cavin McGill, two step-daughters; Leanne Howell, Lori Walker, daughter in laws; Darla Garner McGill, Stacy McGill, son in law; Heath Nichols, grandson-in-law; Nikola Stepomovic, grandson-in-law; Quincy Porter, granddaughter-in-law, Crystal (Kinley Price), step-grandchildren; Morgan, Rachel and Caroline Howell, Blake and Ben Walker, step-sons-in-law; Brian Howell and Steve Walker. Visitation will be from 1-3 pm on Friday, June 15th at First Baptist Church in New Boston, Texas followed by the funeral service at 3pm with Dr. Frank Brooks, Dr. Ken Cox and Dr. Patrick Hunter officiating. Interment will be at Read Hill Cemetery under the direction of Bates Rolf Funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made in Wanda's honor to First Baptist Church at 506 S. McCoy Boulevard, New Boston, TX 75570.
