Jewell Cox

Jewell Cox, of Texarkana, Texas, went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 14, 2018 at the age of 95. Jewell Jones Cox was born on January 17, 1923 in Wood County, Texas, to G. L. and Una Jones. Jewell was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, W.R. (Bill) Cox, brothers, Ray Jones and Ralph Jones, sister, Evelyn Satterwhite, and son-in-law, Stuart Daniels. Her survivors include daughter, Karen Jewell Daniels and grandson, Scott Daniels; special friends, David and Renee Starr and many close nieces and nephews. Jewell and Bill Cox lived in Longview, Texas for many years, where they owned C & C Motors. Jewell graduated from business school and pursued a career in accounting until her retirement. She was a member of Reigning Life Fellowship Church where she enjoyed the preaching of God's Word and gospel music. After retiring, they moved to Diana, Texas to their farm. Jewell was best known for her love of animals. No animal was ever considered a "stray". Her family has fond memories of her bubbling personality, common sense and love of God and country. Such a wonderful lady will be missed by all who knew her. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Oaks Memory Care, Texarkana. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 18, 2018 at Chapelwood Funeral Home with Rev. Orville Farren officiating. Visitation will immediately follow the service.
