Mattie Jo Waltmon

DeKALB, Texas—Mattie Jo Waltmon, 91, of DeKalb died Sunday, June 17, 2018, in a Texarkana, Texas, hospital. Mrs. Waltmon was born May 11, 1927, in DeKalb. She was a retired quality control inspector at Day & Zimmerman and a member of Plantation Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wade Waltmon; and one son, James Waltmon. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Vicki Waltmon of DeKalb; one sister, Avis Rawls of Granbury, Texas; three grandchildren and their spouses, Bryan Waltmon, Cody and Amanda Waltmon and Tracia and Chuck Barger; three great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Bates Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Frank Worley officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Hill Cemetery.
