NEW BOSTON, Texas—Michael "Mike" Doss, 66, of Hooks, Texas, died Thursday, June 21, 2018, at his home. Mr. Doss was born Oct. 20, 1951, in Ashdown, Ark. He was a security officer with Four States Fair Association, member of First Baptist Church and a Navy veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Doss; and a stepson, Chad Rains. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Heather Doss of Waynesboro, Miss.; one daughter, Dana Ivey of Angleton, Texas; one stepson and daughter-in-law, Craig and Caroline Rains of Texarkana, Ark.; his mother, Wanda Sheridan of New Boston; one sister and brother-in-law, Beverly and Gary Strickland of New Boston; one brother and sister-in-law, Chuck and Gloria Simmons of Waco, Texas; four grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church with Roy Ford officiating. Burial will be in Myrtle Springs Cemetery, Hooks, Texas, under direction of Bates Rolf Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church. Arrangements are under direction of Bates Rolf Funeral Home.
