Delma Skillern

Bonham — Delma Francis Skillern, age 92, of Texarkana, TX was born in Gholson, TX on January 3, 1926 to James Wylie and Cora (Campbell) Skillern and passed away on Friday, June 22, 2018 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, TX. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home Bonham, TX. Memorial services will be scheduled for a later date. Delma served honorably in the United States Naval Services from 1944 to 1945. He married Lura (Allen) Skillern on September 3, 1949 in Coolidge, TX; she preceded him in death on June 9, 2008. Delma worked for Dow Chemical as a chemical operator and was a member of Liberty-Eylau Baptist Church in Texarkana, TX. He is survived by daughter Denise Stone and fiancé Dan Johnston of Marietta, OK; and Nancy Weaver and husband Robert of Willis, TX; granddaughter, Krystal Johnson and husband Kyle and great grandchildren, Kyle and Korbin; granddaughter, Stacey Weimer and great granddaughter, Skylar; granddaughter, Holly Massey and husband Jason and great granddaughters, Paige and Kinsey; grandson, Ryan Roberts and great granddaughter, Karah; and grandson, Michael Neiderhofer and great granddaughter, Haley. Also preceding him in death are his parents, daughter, Glenda Hickerson and son-in-law, John; and brother, J.W. Skillern.
