LEON MOREHEAD JR.

HOPE, Ark.—Leon Morehead Jr., 95, of Hope died Saturday, June 23, 2018, in Texarkana, Texas. Mr. Morehead was born April 6, 1923, in Nashville, Ark. He was former owner of Powder Blue Bar-B-Que; former chaplain of American Legion Post 425; a Mason with St. Luke Lodge 23, Malvern, Ark., and S.T. Boyd Consistory 201, Washington, Ark.; a minister at Rising Star Baptist Church; former deacon at Cleveland Avenue Baptist Church; and a World War II Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ola B.; and one child, Clemmie. Survivors include three children and one daughter-in-law, Dorothy Aldridge, Marshall and Olivia Morehead and Betty Jordan of Kansas City, Mo.; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Rising Star Baptist Church. Burial will be in Cave Hill Cemetery under direction of Hicks Funeral Home. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
