HUGHES SPRINGS, Texas—A.D. Allen, 87, of New Diana, Texas, died Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2018. Mr. Allen was born April 18, 1930. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Allen. Survivors include one brother, Frank A. Dowell of Houston; four sisters and one brother-in-law, Tommie and Jerry Hatten of Avinger, Texas, Sherry Ann Gaston of Houston, Robbie Mitchell of Daingerfield, Texas, and Ona Gene Tate of California; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Moriah Baptist Church. Burial will be in Mount Moriah Cemetery under direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home.
