ROY BELL JR.

DeKALB, Texas—Roy E. Bell Jr., 80, of Simms, Texas, died Friday, March 2, 2018, at his home. Mr. Bell was born Nov. 11, 1937, in Detroit, Texas. He was a retired supervisor with Red River Army Depot, a member of St. Mary of the Cenacle Catholic Church, New Boston, Texas, and an Army, Air Force and Army National Guard veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Wincher Bell, in 1990; two daughters, Mary Beck and Linda Marie Bell; and one son, Joe E. Bell. Survivors include his wife, Liz Bell of Simms; one son and two daughters-in-law, Billy and Dana Bell of Chatham, La., and Mary Bell of Simms; two daughters, Tonda McNeil of Simms and Charlotte Snow of Atlanta, Texas; one sister and brother-in-law, Sarah and Bud Vance of St. Louis, Mo.; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Bates Family Funeral Home with the Revs. Steve Minter and James Ross officiating. Burial will be in Sand Hill Cemetery, Simms.
