Carrie Bridges

ATLANTA, Texas—Carrie Abernathy Bridges, 97, of Atlanta died Friday, March 2, 2018, at a Texarkana, Texas, hospice. Mrs. Bridges was born June 3, 1920, in Hughes Springs, Texas. She was a retired teacher with Queen City ISD and a member of First Baptist Church, Queen City, and Eastern Cass County School Retirees Association. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Bridges. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Carolyn Bridges of Texarkana, Texas; one daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and J.C. Wood of Searcy, Ark.; five grandchildren, Robin Bridges, Shelley Power, Ryan Wood, Jeff Wood and Haley Williams; two great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hanner Funeral Home with Jim Looby officiating. Burial will be in Linden Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
