ATLANTA, Texas—James W. "J.W." Thompson, 93, of Atlanta died Monday, March 5, 2018, at his home. Mr. Thompson was born Nov. 30, 1924, in Bradley, Ark. He was retired from AEP Electric and a member of Lion's Club, Siloam Springs, Ark., and West Side Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Henson Thompson; one daughter, Glenda Nell Thompson Broussard; and one great-great-grandson, Brian Elias May. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Rose Marie Thompson and Joe Oliphant of Uncertain, Texas, and Brenda Joyce Thompson and Andy Ostroth of Newbury Park, Calif.; one brother and sister-in-law, James Arthur and Carol Thompson of Gilmer, Texas; nine grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Hanner Funeral Service with Paul Cothren officiating. Burial will be in Smyrna Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
