PRESCOTT, Ark.—Deacon R.D. Brown Jr., 78, of Prescott died Sunday, March 11, 2018, in Hope, Ark. Mr. Brown was born Feb. 28, 1940. He was retired from Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department, a member of Sweet Home Baptist Church and an Army veteran. Survivors include two sisters, Zadie B. Bragg of Rockford, Ill., and Mattie Walker of Bluff City, Ark.; one godsister, Gevena Gulley of Prescott; two uncles, Verner Brown and Robert Brown of Rockford; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 1 p.m. today at Sweet Home Baptist Church with Charles Young officiating. Burial will be in Sweet Home Cemetery under the direction of Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home.
