Joe Powers

James Joseph "Joe" Powers, age 71, of Texarkana, Arkansas, died Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at his residence. Mr. Powers was born February 13, 1947 in Hot Springs, Arkansas and was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps who served in Vietnam. He was a retired general contractor and a member of Westlawn Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lynn Powers; his father J. B. Powers and his sister, Jean Cotham. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Nancy Powers of Kansas City, Missouri; two daughters and sons-in-law, Stephenie and Benny Shook of Clarksville, Arkansas and Stacy and Joshua Patterson of Conway, Arkansas; his mother, Mrs. J.B. Powers of Texarkana, Arkansas; his brother, Lonnie Powers of Newton, Massachusetts; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; along with many other relatives.
