PAUL KEENER

Paul Edward Keener, 60, of Texarkana, Ark., died Saturday, March 17, in a Plano, Texas hospital. The Rev. Keener was born May 20, 1957, in Ashdown, Ark. He was retired from Cooper Tire and Rubber Co., owner/publisher of Texarkana Community Journal, pastor of Hickory Hill Baptist Church, a Mason with Prince Hall PHA and a member of Twin City Ministerial Alliance and St. Paul Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Baylee Keener. Survivors include his wife, Ramona Daniels-Keener of Texarkana; four sons, Paul Lamont of Kansas City, Mo., Derrick Jamail Keener of Texarkana, the Rev. David Jerome Keener of Fresno, Calif., and Brandon Burris of Pine Bluff, Ark.; five brothers, Royce Lee Keener of Ashdown, Ark., Matthew Keener III of Douglassville, Texas, the Rev. Ronnie Earl Keener and Herschel D. Keener of Texarkana and Richard David Keener of Shreveport, La.; four sisters, Melinda Simon and Maleffia B. Aubrey of Texarkana, Lucy A. Keener of Shreveport, La., and Sandra E. Jackson of Ashdown; seven grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Lonoke Baptist Church. Burial will be in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens Cemetery under direction of Haynes Mortuary. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at Hickory Hill Baptist Church.
