Sharon Elaine Birdwell Thompson, 74, of Hooks, Texas, died Thursday, March 22, 2018, at her home. Mrs. Thompson was born Feb. 3, 1944 in Texarkana, Texas. She was a former tax preparer with Jackson Hewitt and a member of Everett Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Thompson; and one grandson, Patrick Cole Vasquez. Survivors include one son, Rusty Wilburn of Hooks; one brother, Kevin Birdwell of Dallas; one granddaughter, Ashton Elaine Wilburn of Dallas; and two great-grandchildren, Jayden Cole Vasquez of Dallas and Hallie Williams of Texarkana. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Chapelwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Roy Ford officiating. Visitation will follow services at the funeral home.
