Gibson Hadaway

Gibson "Hoot" Hadaway, 88, of Texarkana, Texas, died Saturday, March 24, 2018, at his home. Judge Hadaway was born Oct. 26, 1929, in Ben Franklin, Texas. He was a Bowie County justice of the peace, retired from Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission, member of Texas Retired Officers Association, former president of Texarkana Dixie Youth Baseball and a Korean War Navy veteran. Survivors include his wife, Jonel Hadaway; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Joe Hadaway of Commerce, Texas, Max and Kelly Hadaway of Texarkana and Rob and Micki Hadaway of New Boston, Texas; and seven grandchildren. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Chapelwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Chapelwood Mausoleum. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
