Roger Carter

Roger L. "Pops" Carter, age 63, of Texarkana, Texas, passed away Friday, March 23, 2018, at his home. Mr. Carter was born October 27, 1954, in New Boston, Texas. He was a United States Marine Corps Veteran and a retired mechanic. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Marcus and Pauline Carter; his sister, Natalie Kay Cole; and his grandfather, Johnny Payton. He is survived by his wife, Freda; one son and daughter-in-law, Timothy and Mandy Akin; three daughters and one son-in-law, Brandy and Patrick Cullen, Mandy Pounds and April Cooper; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Patricia and David Ford and Darelen Haggard; eight grandchildren, Ashaleena Lammarand, Dawn Coffman, Shania Madden, Lauren Collums, Ty Pounds, Kyle Carter, Melissa Cooper, Kaida Bromley, Trevor Oakes and Ryan Bennett; two great-grandchildren, McKinley Madden and Natalie Lammarand; and a number of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
