Carl Lee Fant Sr., 65, of Texarkana, Texas, died Sunday, March 25, 2018, at his home. Mr. Fant was born Oct. 29, 1952, in Dallas, Texas. He was employed by Cooper Tire and Rubber Co., a volunteer firefighter with Liberty-Eylau Fire Department, a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and a Vietnam War, Desert Shield and Desert Storm Marine Corps veteran. Survivors include his wife, Denise Fant of Texarkana, Texasa; one son, Carl Fant Jr. of Dallas, Texas; one daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Robert Sturtevant of Texarkana, Texas; three sisters, Carliss Love and Veda Cornelius of Texarkana, Texas, and Barbara Clayton of Ashdown, Ark.; one brother, Glenn Fuller of Texarkana, Ark.; two grandchildren, Ryan Chilcoat and Pachomius Sturtevant; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Chapelwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Harvey Cornelius officiating. Burial will be in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Liberty-Eylau Volunteer Fire Department, 7675 Eylau Loop Road, Texarkana, TX 75501.
