DeKALB, Texas—James Wesley Fowler, 84, of DeKalb died Friday, March 23, 2018, in a Texarkana, Texas hospital. Mr. Fowler was born Nov. 9, 1933, in New Boston, Texas. He was a mechanic, machine tools salesman, licensed aviator, member of First United Methodist Church, DeKalb, and Master Sergeant with the Army National Guard. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma D. Fowler. Survivors include one daughter, Cathy Fowler of DeKalb; two sons, Mike Fowler of DeKalb and Ron Fowler of Marshall, Texas; two sisters, Betty Fowler Johns of Burleson, Texas, and Johnnie Lou Fowler Dillinger of Longview, Texas; one granddaughter, Cara Fowler of DeKalb; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church, DeKalb, with the Rev. Matt Smith and Delphine Germany officiating. Burial will be in Pulaski Cemetery, New Boston, under direction of Bates Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the church.
