DeKALB, Texas—Jackie Ray English, 87, of DeKalb died Saturday, April 28, 2018, at his home. Mr. English was born Dec. 13, 1930, in Maud, Okla. He was a pipeline construction contractor, a Christian and a Korean War Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nell Thomas English. Survivors include one sister, Bettye Clark of DeKalb; two brothers, Billy Don English of DeKalb and Bobby English of New Boston, Texas; one special nephew, Jody Dickens; one special niece, Amy Clark; and a number of other relatives. Graveside services will be 3 p.m. today at Roberts Cemetery with Steve Minter officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Bates Family Funeral Home.
