LARRY TOWNSEND

Larry J. Townsend, 70, of Texarkana, Ark., died Saturday, April 28, 2018, in a local hospital. Mr. Townsend was born Oct. 24, 1947, in Miller County, Ark. He was retired from Cooper Tire and Rubber Company, a member of the Genoa ISD School Board and Highland Church of Christ. He also was a Vietnam War Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sue Ann Townsend. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Rusty and Jennifer Townsend of Texarkana; two brothers, Johnny Townsend and Jerry Townsend of Genoa, Ark.; two granddaughters Kelsey Key and Reese Townsend; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Texarkana Funeral Home, Arkansas, with Chris Hooten officiating. Burial will be in Central Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
