Edgar Parker

Edgar Thomas Parker, 102, of Texarkana, Texas, died Sunday, May 6, 2018, in a local nursing home. Mr. Parker was born March 10, 1916, in Meridian, Miss. He was retired from the United States Postal Service and was a World War II Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Elizabeth Parker. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Julie Parker of Texarkana; one grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Peyton T. and April Parker of Gilbert, Ariz.; one granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Katelyn and David Nixon of Fort Sill, Okla.; two great-grandchildren, Mia Nixon and Weston Nixon; one special nephew, Bill Gibson of Longview, Texas; and a number of other relatives. Private graveside services will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park with the Rev. Larry Sims officiating. Burial will be under direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Texas.
