BERNICE HIGGINS
NAPLES, Texas—Bernice Louella Cobb Higgins, 94, of Naples died Wednesday, May 9, 2018, in Mount Pleasant, Texas.
Mrs. Higgins was born Aug. 25, 1923, in Naples. She was a retired cafeteria manager with Paul Pewitt School, a member of Naples Chamber of Commerce, Naples Watermelon Festival Committee, Naples Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, Morris County Retired Teachers Association, Women's Missionary Union and a Sunday School teacher, treasurer and member of Daniels Chapel Congregational Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Higgins, in 1999; and two great-granddaughters, Lauren Knight and Lindsey Knight.
Survivors include three sons, Noel Higgins, Kenneth Higgins and Sam Higgins of Naples; three daughters, Carol Carpenter of Omaha, Texas, Glenna Holman of Lavon, Texas, and Brenda Knight of Naples; one sister, Mary Carpenter of Naples; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Daniels Chapel Congregational Methodist Church with the Rev. Nolan Richey officiating. Burial will be in Springhill Cemetery under direction of Harrison Funeral Home.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
