ATLANTA, Texas—Donald Nelson, 69, of Atlanta died Wednesday, May 9, 2018, in a Texarkana, Texas, hospital. Mr. Nelson was born Sept. 23, 1948, in San Francisco, Calif. He was a Baptist. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Medders-Nelson of Atlanta; two daughters and sons-in-law, Tiffany and Derric McFarland of Texarkana and Sheree and Jamie Sheridan of Lula, Ga.; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Troy and Summer Nelson of Texarkana and Brock Phillips of California; one nephew and spouse, Robert and Suzanna Nelson of Keller, Texas; six grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Hanner Funeral Service with Tom Brown officiating. Online registration is at hannerfuneralservice.com.
