JAMES OWENS

James F. Owens, 52, of Texarkana, Ark., died Sunday, May 20, 2018, in Little Rock. Mr. Owens was born July 10, 1965, in Ashdown, Ark. He was employed with Texas Department of Education and a member of Eleventh Street Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shonterra Marks Owens. Survivors include five daughters, Chaka Denson of Dallas, Jamie Owens of Little Rock, Teiryni Marks and Jakera Owens of Texarkana and Jhori Owens of Conway, Ark.; his mother, Pearl Jackson of Texarkana; two brothers, Michael Owens of Lewisville, Texas, and Detrice Winfrey of Killeen, Texas; three sisters, Felecia Covington of San Diego and Rhonda Howard and Leslie Martyr of Killeen; four grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Macedonia Baptist Church with the Rev. Eddie Hill Sr. officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery, Ashdown, under direction of Richardson Hill Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
