Mrs. Helen Blanch Westmoreland Click, of Texarkana, AR, died Friday, May 25, 2018, at her residence. She was the last of five children of William and Blanch Kate Westmoreland. She was born April 9, 1917 in Conway, AR. She graduated from High School in Conway and in 1937 from Hendrix College. She began her teaching career during the depression in Rison, AR where she met her husband, Robert H. Click. After the war they moved to Texarkana with their daughter Carol Ann Click. In 1949 she began her career with TASD where she worked as the High School and Junior High School Librarian. During this time she took a break to have her son, Bobby, and complete her Master of Library Sciences Degree at Texas Women's University. In 1964, she took a position at Texarkana College and spent 21 years there, retiring as the Reference Librarian in 1985. Helen was one of the founding members of the Alpha Delta Kappa Chapter where she served as president and in several other offices. She was also a member and served as president of PEO Chapter CX. She taught a ladies Sunday School Class at Beech Street First Baptist Church, where she was a member for 69 years. During retirement she was busy volunteering and traveling the world. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters, and brothers. She is survived by her daughter, Carol Sanderson (Alex lll), and her son Bobby Click (Barbara); grandchildren, Alex Sanderson IV (Jane), Kirk Sanderson (Jennifer), Angie Hawks (Thomas), and Jeremy Corbin (Mary Collin), her great-grandchildren Kourtney Sanderson, James Sanderson, Al Sanderson, Tyler Sanderson, Maddie Bowman, Kadie Bowman, Jake Bowman, Amanda Powell, Mackenzie O'Brian, Preston Corbin, Evan Corbin, Hannah Corbin, and Lily Corbin. She has two great-great-grandchildren, Raeden Burton and Hazel Corbin. A heartfelt thanks for the love and care for the last few years to Barbara Click, Amy Butler, Gerda Lavender, Kaylin Duke and long time faithful friend and helper, Betty Jones. Join us for a celebration of her life at Texarkana Funeral Home Arkansas at 11:00 A. M. Tuesday, May 29th, 2018. Visitation will be Monday from 5:30 P. M. until 7:00 P. M. at the funeral home.
